At The Ohio State University on February 4, the second Ohio State History Bee saw nearly two dozen talented high school students compete in Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions for the right to earn the title of Ohio History Bee champions, as well as qualify to our national Bee on Sunday, April 29. Michael Coates followed up his victory at Boardman’s Northeast Ohio Regional Bee with victory over his Warren G. Harding High School Bowl teammate Korey Gall by a 5-2 score in the final. An exciting Junior Varsity final saw Zel Demere of St. Charles Preparatory School beat Tom Moore of Fisher Catholic 5-4. Thanks again to the Ohio State quizbowl team for providing the space to run the competition, and we hope to see all of our 9 varsity and 5 JV qualifiers in Washington, D.C. at the end of April!
