The National History Bee and Bowl visited Fargo North High School in Fargo, ND for the inaugural North Dakota History Bee and Bowl on Saturday, February 18, 2012. 10 brave competitors stepped up to face the challenge of the Bee, with 7 varsity participants and 3 on the JV side.
Samuel Lin and Vince Kloubec outbuzzed Ahmed Attai to advance to the JV final, where Samuel won 5-3. Samuel and Vince each qualified for our National Bee to be held Sunday, April 29.
In the Varsity Bee, the top 5 qualified for the National Bee. Fargo North claimed each of the top 3 spots, with Nadeeka De Saram and Christopher Lontz advancing to the head-to-head final for the North Dakota title. Nadeeka beat Christopher, also by a score of 5-3, to make it a double win for North in the bee competitions.
