Congratulations to Graham Bacher (Greens Farms) and Max Servetas (North Babylon) for winning their respective divisions at the Connecticut History Bee! The varsity division was very strong — each of the top 4 seeds after the preliminary rounds had completed their run of 8 questions in each round! Graham emerged as the #1 seed, then withstood the 10-person first phase of the playoffs where every participant scored. The second phase passed quickly, with Graham advancing to the final against Cameron Juric (Hingham). Graham won, 5-0.
In the JV division, only Mark Whittaker (Greens Farms) completed his run of 8 in each round, but fell at the second phase of the playoffs as fellow Greens Farms student Adam Petno advanced to face Max, the #2 seed, in the final. Max held on to win 5-3.
